These include, but are not limited to, the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) 403 Eminent Threat Program, the FEMA 404 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), the FEMA 325 Public Disaster Assistance Debris Management Guide, the FEMA 19 Point Checklist, historic renovations, and flood-affected structures requiring comprehensive parcel documentation and resolution. AVENV staff has extensive experience with FEMA reimbursed environmental assessment and testing, post remediation confirmation, remedial design specification production and air monitoring. Furthermore, AVENV consultants have an established process for the identification and documentation of debris generated by the FEMA work. Industrial Hygiene Services
AVENV performs Industrial Hygiene services, including asbestos inspections, project design, project oversight, quality control, and air monitoring. Industrial Hygienist with AVENV successfully participate in the Proficiency Analysis Test (PAT) rounds, and are certified by the American Industrial Hygienist Association (AIHA). AVENV’s environmental Industrial Hygienist’s evaluate indoor air quality and assist in occupational exposure assessments to ensure a healthy working environment.
Exposure Monitoring and Assessments
AVENV Industrial Hygienist’s can conduct exposure monitoring for a broad spectrum of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulated contaminants. These include dusts, fumes, mists, particulates, vapors and bio-aerosols. AVENV’s staff is trained to conduct lead, arsenic and silica exposure assessments. These are required under the OSHA Standard for Construction, in order to determine potential exposure levels to employees.
Indoor Air Quality Assessments
AVENV has extensive experience with indoor air quality or “sick building” assessments. These assessments include site reconnaissance to evaluate chemical usage, analysis of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and review of facility work practices. Direct read instrumentation is utilized to monitor common indicators of indoor air quality problems.

ASTM Transaction Screen Process
AVENV performs Transaction Screen Processes, based upon standards established by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Through this process, AVENV inquires as to the potential environmental liability associated with a specific property.
ASTM Phase I ESAs
AVENV’s team performs Phase I ESAs, in accordance with ASTM Standard E 1527-98 (ASTM-ESA). These assessments include a physical review of the site, investigations of past and present usage, and identification of previous and existing on-site structures and owners. AVENV staff also review documentation (i.e.) aerial photographs, street directories, historical documentation, government records, etc.), evaluate site characteristics, assess adjacent properties, and draft a written report that incorporates all information obtained during the Phase I ESA. This report communicates hazardous materials of concern on and adjacent to the site (such as asbestos, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), and underground storage tanks), as well as the potential for other environmental concerns.
Site Characterization, Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Studies
AVENV can assist clientele in site characterization, to determine potential contamination. This includes investigating the type, concentration, and extent of the contamination, as well as studying the feasibility and cost of alternative remedial measures.
Waste Management
AVENV provides oversight on projects involving the removal and off-site treatment and disposal of hazardous or contaminated materials. This includes oversight on the removal of asbestos, the excavation, transportation and disposal of contaminated soil, and re-containerizing drums.
Debris Monitoring Services
AVENV staff has experience with debris monitoring activities. These include monitoring asbestos waste, household hazardous wastes (HHWs) and general demolition debris. AVENV technicians have established protocols for the identification and documentation of all debris generated during remediation and demolition activities.
Health & Safety
AVENV staff is knowledgeable with OSHA 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.120 and 1926 and can certify that projects comply with the applicable requirements. Personnel are trained in such areas as: lead-based paint/risk assessment, asbestos building inspections, certified hazardous material management (CHMM) and other industrial hygiene areas. AVENV has online capability for database/SharePoint to streamline projects and allow clients the ability to track work on a daily basis. Utilizing Microsoft SharePoint and various IT resources, AVENV runs web-based sites to host all documents, data, records, and other information for clientele, as it pertains to their projects. These SharePoint sites are hosted remotely via Microsoft Cloud and are managed by a team of Microsoft certified experts. These sites are highly confidential, thus protecting client’s interests and ensuring their privacy.
